Michael Santoro
Michael Santoro is a fine art photographer engaged in the intersection between art and science. Inspired by a background in filmmaking and a passionate interest in physics, Michael utilizes surreal imagery to capture the interplay between theory and feeling.
angelEye employs photogrammetry and ray tracing to generate unique perspectives of a scene. To achieve this, hundreds of photos capture color and radiance data, while LiDAR technology tracks camera movement and position. Based on this information, computer vision software constructs a 3D model of the environment. However, when the data is insufficient, it can lead to the emergence of visual artifacts. These artifacts have an impressionistic quality, which can be used to illustrate the imperfections of human perception.

Alexis Jones

Alexis Jones is a multi-disciplinary artist born in Jackson, Mississippi and based in Tennessee, currently working as a graphic designer. While her background is mostly in digital art, she shifted towards more 3D work, while working in sign production during the pandemic. After learning how much raw material is wasted in the production process across so many industries, she became interested in what could be done with materials that would otherwise be deemed as trash. She often utilizes laser cutting, and different painting techniques to transform salvage

Seen, 2024

What does it mean to be seen? Not physically. Can I show you my consciousness? If I showed you would you even see me? I can’t exist in fear if what I really desire is to evolve and
connect. You can’t see me until you’ve seen yourself. I can see you now because I’ve seen
myself.

Final Body of Body and Flowers: A Series, 2023

I have a yearning to explore nature and its relationship to me and how I exist in the world.
Am I growing like a flower? Are my seasons limited to the four we’re taught about? How
can nature heal me? What are the similarities?
What are the differences? I want to grow and
also be grateful for the state I’m in. Are my tears the water that will help me grow? Is my gratitude the sunshine? How many ways can I
show that I’ve changed?

Megan Jordan
Dr. Meg ‘Meg Jo’ Jordan is a Southern Black woman visual artist and social scientist dedicated to making complex topics more accessible to bridge contentious social divides. Meg's visual art is informed by her career as a sociologist interviewing folks about humanity, the challenges of fostering hope and imagination, and building coalitions during what seems to be impossible, fatalistic times. Her whimsical, figurative, and impressionistic paintings tackle fatalism and nihilism by bringing an air of radical imagination and hope through her use of color and choice of figures. Dr. Jordan's work has been acknowledged as doing such by the Smithsonian Institution at the United Nations Climate Change Conference COP27 in Egypt, by the Tanne Foundation for her work on abolition and racial justice, by the Nashville Scene and the Tennessean for her involvement in the painting of a 350-foot Black Lives Matter Street mural, etc. Her specialty and drive is wrapped up in creating symbols and images of love and hope in times of hate and despair in order to move people to believe we can win so we don’t freeze from fear, but act with faith.
